Course Description

Learn with a community of your peers as you take this 4-week self-paced online course, "Building Authentic Family & Student Relationships" – Part 2. Dive into the latest research on family engagement and building authentic student relationships to drive student success outcomes. This class will explore classroom and school strategies to develop meaningful relationships and highlight areas working in schools and organizations nationwide. This course will run from March 5 - March 26 and be self-paced and all online. No textbook is needed as research will be embedded throughout the course from top educational researchers and leaders.

Course Goals

  • Objective #1 - Participants will identify factors of relationship building between students and families.
  • Objective #2 - Participants will understand Dual Capacity Framework of authentic Family Engagement.
  • Objective # 3 - Participants will apply Dual Capacity Framework to their own classroom strategies.

Estimated Time: 14-16 Hours (Two Days)

This self-paced course typically requires 14-16 hours to complete, though the actual time may vary based on individual factors.

Administrators, PLC leaders, and others can enroll their whole team; there's an option for bulk enrollment in the Catalog for registering multiple members. You first need to reserve and purchase multiple enrollments. After that, you can invite individuals to your purchased seats.

Credentials: 15 CECH or 1 Graduate Credit

After completing this course, you can obtain 15 CECH or 1 graduate credit. Graduate credit costs an additional small charge to the university for both members and non-members.
