"Using the OSEUs: Part 3 - Creating Lessons with the Inquiry Design Model" is an innovative course that equips teachers and administrators with the skills to integrate the Oceti Sakowin Essential Understandings Standards (OSEUS) into their curriculum using the Inquiry Design Model (IDM). This 15-hour, self-paced course is the perfect opportunity for educators to transform their understanding from Parts I and II into actionable teaching strategies and administrative plans. Teachers will learn to design engaging lessons in their content areas, incorporating the rich resources of WoLakota Elder Interviews and Virtue Videos, while administrators will focus on creating a year-long plan for OSEUS vertical alignment in their schools. Both groups will explore IDM lesson formats and examples across various grade levels and subjects, culminating in the creation of a lesson or unit plan for teachers and a staff meeting plan for administrators, aimed at enriching the educational experience with cultural depth and relevance.

The course structure includes modules on Virtue Videos, IDM Lesson Exploration, and tailored assignments for both teachers and administrators. Teachers will work on crafting a lesson or unit plan, while administrators will develop strategies for staff meetings and OSEUS integration. This flexible course allows participants to progress at their own pace, ensuring that each individual can absorb and apply the material effectively. Upon successful completion of the assignments, educators will not only pass the course but also be eligible for Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECHS), adding value to their professional development journey. This course is an invaluable tool for those looking to bring a culturally responsive and inquiry-based approach to their educational settings.
