Course Description

"Accommodations & Modifications" is an essential course that provides paraprofessionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support students with diverse learning needs. The course opens with a compelling narrative that highlights the importance of understanding and implementing appropriate accommodations and modifications in the classroom. Through a series of informative BHSSC-created videos, reflective exercises, and assessments, participants will learn to distinguish between accommodations and modifications and understand when each approach is most appropriate. The course explores the role of paraprofessionals in implementing these strategies and provides practical guidance on how to collaborate with teachers and other educational team members to ensure student success. By the end of the course, paraprofessionals will feel empowered to contribute to the creation of inclusive learning environments that meet the unique needs of every student.
