Course Description

This course, comprised of two detailed modules, delves into the intricate aspects of designing and understanding educational outcomes, objectives, and success criteria alongside paired assessments. It is meticulously crafted to guide educators through the process of prioritizing learning by considering the context in which education occurs, the scope of the goals set forth, and the importance of using student-friendly language. Furthermore, the modules emphasize the significance of accuracy and precision in both setting objectives and evaluating them through assessments. Participants will explore the nuances of item analysis among other key concepts, which are pivotal in crafting a robust educational framework that not only meets but exceeds educational standards. To ensure that learners can apply the theoretical knowledge gained, the course incorporates scenario-based learning and a variety of practice activities. These elements are designed to foster a deeper understanding of the material by placing educators in real-world educational scenarios, challenging them to think critically and apply what they have learned in practical settings. This approach is especially beneficial for supporting school-wide initiatives around assessment or outcomes, as it equips educators with the tools and strategies needed to contribute effectively to their school’s academic objectives. Through this comprehensive training, participants will be well-prepared to enhance their instructional practices and positively impact student learning outcomes.
